On June 23, 1997, Beau had survived to his 1 month birthday. This photo was taken only 5 days after the turning point in Beau's illness.

Beau visiting Merle in his room. Beau had to back out of the room as there was not enough room for him to turn around. Merle was not feeling well on this day and could not get to the sunroom to see Beau. When he could not find Merle, Beau went looking for him and found Merle asleep. Beau very gently woke Merle up so that they could have a visit.

Beau is being hugged by one of the residents as we are preparing to leave. It is really a big event when Beau visits and everyone wants to see him. It is announced on the P.A. system and people come from all parts of the hospital and clinic to see Beau.
